Beckham Books is located in the beautiful and historic market town of Sudbury, deep within the Suffolk countryside.
Sudbury itself was the birth place of famous artist; Thomas Gainsborough. He was born in the town in 1727 and the town hosts the world renowned Gainsborough House museum.

The surrounding area encompasses some of the most picturesque and oldest villages in Suffolk. Long Melford, Lavenham and Kersey are all within 10 miles whilst the famous Constable Country lies some 15 miles to the east. The area is regularly used by television and film companies and the popular TV, series "Lovejoy" was based in Long Melford.
Beckham Books started back in 1990 and has developed from a hobby to a thriving business located in its own purpose built building with over 40,000 books on shelves. The business centres around Helen and Adrian Beckham answering enquiries and sorting and collating new acquisitions.
They are specialists in antiquarian Latin, Greek and English Holy texts (16th, 17th, 18th and 19th Century), including Bibles and Prayer Books, but they have a huge variety of other subjects – from Architecture, History, and Military to Local East Anglian books, as well as Literature and Children’s Books.

ADRIAN BECKHAM
The religious specialization came about through an accident when they were offered a collection of cookery books and ended up with over 1000 theological books as well! "It was only then, that we realized that there was a demand for this type of book.”
