My books don't come to me, I go looking for them and I thoroughly enjoy myself into the bargain...I like travelling, and I love looking round old bookshops and markets I also like to think I've got a good eye ~ or nose ~ or whatever sensing device I use ~ for books that will appeal to you, and I do love it when I'm proved right by a sale. I suspect this is 'man the hunter' in me, but its good to understand your wiring! I'm currently on a career break looking after my mother, who's had a stroke. Before that I worked in the field of civil rights for ten years.
This new space in my life has already led to new passions and interests, which has been a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed my past work but really love my new occupation. Selling on ebay fits in very comfortably around my caring responsibilities. A few carefully planned book hunting trips each week, and then working from home the rest of the time. And having a little virtual-reality shop pleases me endlessly, I must confess. I sweep it out every morning with my virtual-reality broom and put on a pot of virtual-reality coffee while I wait for the first of my customers to arrive. And you do, bless you, from all over the world. I'm a little tempted to have a map on the wall with red flags stuck in the places I've posted to so far...I guess that's because I'm a man - its puzzling, sometimes, being a man. for instance, although I have no idea what you do in one I occasionally find myself hankering for a shed, very badly, to create that subtle harmony, that essential yin/yan balance, with my study...
I trade under the name 'Bluedragonfly' because I like blue dragonflies, and I've recently started to see some hovering over my garden, usually in the early evening, never still, never landing, seemingly with the whole of the sky as their playground. I've taken their presence at this time in my life as a sign from the Universe - an optimistic one. I like where I've been, I like where I am now, but most of all I like where I'm heading...
