Many of these old books have been handcrafted and are bound in fine leather. If you are looking for the very special, old, rare or signed copy as a gift or to reward yourself, you might specifically consider first editions under Signed First Print, Adventure, or Famous People. You might also be drawn to some of the more modern classic first editions from Easton Press or Franklin Library. Company History
Books Tell You Why was established in its current form in 2002 in South Carolina, U.S. Near Charleston, where history has been written and re-written many times.
What started out with a few very valuable books from personal collections is expanding rapidly, Books Tell You Why has established itself as one of the leading sources for rare autographed books in the Southeastern United States. Our international customer base continues to give us great marks for outstanding service and quality of our books.

PayPal orders will be shipped only to confirmed SHIP TO: addresses. Please contact PayPal to verify confirmed shipping addresses. Your order is subject to cancellation if your shipping address is NOT confirmed.
Credit card orders require a valid billing address. Large credit card orders from new customers might require a mail or fax copy of a valid picture identification with matching address.
Your payment must be received prior to shipment. Typically your books will ship within less than two business days after receipt of payment.
Should your (Money Order or Check) payment not be received by
Books Tell You Why within 14 days of your order, you accept the cancellation of your order and the re-listing of the ordered book(s).
Books Tell You Why reserves the right to refuse or cancel future orders from non-paying buyers.
Buyers specifying a South Carolina shipping address agree that a 6% state tax will be added to their book purchase.
Refunds
The whole purchase cost (incl. two-way shipping & handling) will be refunded if listing is inaccurate or shipment is damaged. Returns need to be authorized prior to their shipment within 14 days of your receipt. Books must be returned in the same condition as received, return shipments must be insured.
Returns outside of above 14 days window will only be accepted for Discerning Collector membership owners at the time of purchase.
Shipping
We maintain most books in our store in protective mylar cover. All books are packaged with great care, shipments will be insured. Shipping per Fedex, UPS, Media Mail (default) or Priority Mail. Special size or heavy books might carry an additional handling charge. Outside U.S.A.: inquire directly as we maintain a small inventory of books in our European Service Center.
Description and Pictures
All books in our store carry a description that describes the very book you will be obtaining in your Books Tell You Why purchase.
In case there is a picture associated with the book description, the picture might be from a similar book of the same edition and same print, especially, but not limited to cases of books still being in their original shrinkwrap.
We will be more than happy to help your decision making process in cases you desire specific assistance with a book description or additional information or pictures from a book you are interested in.
Books Tell You Why attempts to be as accurate as possible. However, Books Tell You Why does not warrant that book descriptions, pictures or other content of this site is accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free. If a book offered by Books Tell You Why is not as described, you accept that your sole remedy is to return it in the same condition as received.
Authenticity of Autographed Books
Consistent with the policies and Code of Ethics of Universal Autograph Collectors Club (UACC), Books Tell You Why guarantees the authenticity of autographed items for the lifetime of the original purchaser, i.e., Books Tell You Why will provide a full refund of the original purchasing price incl. two-way shipping at any time where lack of authenticity can be proven and where proof of purchase is supplied by the original purchaser.
